Additional Services

The Host Family/Friends Program assists international visitors with their initial adjustment to UW-Eau Claire and culture in the United States. Upon arrival for Orientation, students are picked up at the Eau Claire airport or bus station by their hosts and invited into their homes for three days prior to Orientation. At the end of the three day home stay, hosts help students move into regular residence halls on campus. Throughout the fall and spring semesters, hosts invite visitors to participate in family celebrations, holiday gatherings and short trips. Host families and friends are instrumental in introducing new visitors to the Eau Claire community!

Other Programs

After the spring semester, you may continue your English language learning during a five-week intensive program in June and July or a four-week program in July and August. These programs include up to 20 hours of contact time per week plus numerous cultural excursions and activities. In addition, you will have lunch daily with professors for informal conversation practice. The summer program may vary slightly from the academic year program.
