Description

Monterey is a small, safe, coastal town in Central California located about 100 miles south of San Francisco and 300 miles north of Los Angeles. Monterey is famous for its local history and is a popular tourist and business destination. Popular attractions include the Monterey Peninsula's Cannery Row shopping district, the world class golf courses of Pebble Beach, and the incredible natural scenery of Carmel and Big Sur. Monterey is a great place to be a student of English and American culture!

The Intensive English as a Second Language Program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies helps you learn English for school, for business, and for everyday life.

You will join classmates and teachers from many different countries to learn about American life and language.

The small classes emphasize interaction and effective communication in a friendly, personal setting.

All of the instructors in the program hold Masters degrees in the teaching of a second language, and are committed, energetic professionals.
