BIR’s Accounting and Office Administration program focuses on two primary aspects: Accounting and office productivity tools. Students learn the operations of business transactions, including manual and electronic accounting systems, business language, and accounting procedures. The program emphasizes the efficient use of computer applications, and includes training in QuickBooks® and Microsoft Office®. The combined knowledge of accounting and business technology allows BIR graduates to increase their marketability in today’s competitive workplace.
BIR’s Health Information Technology program provides comprehensive training in medical terminology and anatomy; procedural and diagnostic coding; manual and electronic billing; as well as medical office administration. Students develop medical office management skills, learn to process insurance claims using industry-standard medical billing software, and learn to code medical diagnoses and procedures. BIR’s Health Information Technology program provides lectures, hands-on training, externships, and preparation for industry certification. BIR prepares students for rewarding work in the in the field of Health Information Technology in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, insurance companies, or their own business
BIR’s Medical Assisting Program is longer than one year and less than two years program that includes thorough training in clinical and administrative duties. Clinical training includes: medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood drawing techniques, asepsis, medicine administration and injections, vital signs and measurements, routine and emergency medical procedures and treatments, and CPR. The administrative portion provides training in reimbursement cycles, insurance claim preparation and submission, patient account management, and medical software.
