North Seattle Institute of English (NSIE)

Description

Located in a safe, residential area of north Seattle, the college is 15 minutes from downtown and is convenient to shopping and transportation. Seattle has vibrant cultural, educational, and commercial communities. Its attractive natural setting provides for a wide range of recreational activities. It is three hours by car from Vancouver, Canada, and Portland, Oregon.

The program provides six levels of instruction from high-beginning to academic preparation. Students in levels 4-6 (which emphasize English for academic purposes) can take a college-level course while studying ESL. The majority of the students continue as students in the college (TOEFL not required). English through computers and other electives are offered.
