HLI is conveniently located in Picken Hall, the oldest and most beautiful building on the 200-acre campus of Fort Hays State University in the friendly and safe setting of Hays, Kansas. Hays is a beautiful city located on the plains of western Kansas, midway between Kansas City and Denver, Colorado.

HLI, a division of the Language Company, is designed to prepare students for study in an American university. Students study for 30 hours a week in nine different levels. There is a computer language lab. Thirteen, four-week sessions per year with applications accepted year round.
