Description

Port Elizabeth is a smaller city, with a lower cost of living and a great academic environment. The city is quite easy to get around in, and the inhabitants are usually very friendly and helpful. With a number of excellent flying schools in and around the city, it is the ideal destination for Aviation English students. The city is well-known for its facilities and hospitality, and activities on offer range from diving, surfing and swimming to golf, wildlife-viewing, sandboarding and wine-tasting. The world-renowned Addo Elephant National Park and numerous private game parks are close to the city, and offer easy access to Africa's stunning nature. It is also the gateway to the world-famous Garden Route, and is within a day’s drive of Cape Town.

BLI, ATO 0373, offers an intensive Aviation English programme, designed to ensure that non-English speaking trainee pilots and ATCs achieve the levels of English competency required by the International Civil Aviation Organisation for effective radio telephony, as well as equipping them to study and write exams in English. The 4 week course consists of 30 x 50-minute lessons per week, and should be taken by students who have successfully completed an Intermediate level exit test (ICAO Level 3 equivalent).
