Adventure and Activities

Many opportunities for fun and adventure are available to students on campus, in Fayetteville and around the northwest Arkansas region, including:

Lectures - Enjoy lectures by some of the biggest names in the world. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Jane Goodall, Steve Wozniak, Anderson Cooper, and President George H.W. Bush, have all spoken on campus through our Distinguished Lecture Series.

Concerts - From the most popular headliners to artists fresh on the scene, the University of Arkansas brings the best concerts in the area - and they're free for students! The Springtime of Youth music festival occurs each spring and has included artists such as the Foo Fighters, Wiz Khalifa, Diplo, Kid Cudi, BØRNS, and Snoop Dogg.

Registered Student Organizations - Build campus culture on a grassroots level with more than 380 registered student organizations, from cultural and religious, to professional and special interests. Can't find a group? Students are welcomed and encouraged to start their own!

Volunteer - Students give their time, their skills, and even their sweat to help neighbors near and far. The Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry is not only a great place to help out, but offers donations of food to students in need.

Student Government - Your opinions matter and your voice should be heard. Student government at the University of Arkansas is active and a strong advocate for students, with the Associated Student Government (ASG) representing undergraduate interests, and the Graduate and Professional Student Congress (GPSC) representing graduate students.

University Recreation - Multiple campus recreation facilities provide free access to an Olympic-sized swimming pool, dozens of fitness classes, a full service bike shop with rentals, a rock-climbing wall, and free equipment rental. Spacious gyms are available in both the HPER building and the Arkansas Union, and new outdoor recreation fields with synthetic turf are open nearly year-round for student use.

Competitive Sports - Many Club and Intramural Sports opportunities are available to students all year long, including soccer (football), cricket, Quidditch, rugby, martial arts, and more. Play in a casual league with friends at no cost, or join a competitive team to travel and play against other schools!
