Program Description

Hargrave is Americas premier military boarding school for boys. It begins at grade 7 and continues into one year of post-graduate study. Our educational philosophy is based on Christian values. Many teachers and staff members speak more than one language and have extensive overseas experience. All levels and concentrations of ESL are offered, including TOEFL preparation. The student may take ESL intensively or in conjunction with mainstream classes. An intensive ESL program is also offered in the summer.

All international students are boarded in campus dormitories. There are usually two students per room. Every effort is made to match each international student with a compatible American room-mate.

Hargrave is located in a small, friendly and very safe community in Southside Virginia It lies between the cities of Lynchburgh and Danville. It is only about an hour and a half from Duke University.

application information:

Applications may be requested through Mrs. Amy Walker, Director of Admissions. There is a $150.00 application fee. All international students will be given the SLEP test during orientation.
