Program Description:
The group Intensive English program (30 lessons per week) is divided into 12 levels from Beginning to Masters levels. Each level takes approximately four weeks to complete. All language skills are taught including Reading/Writing in the afternoons. A group Semi-intensive program (20 lessons per week) is also available providing the same morning instruction as the Intensive English program but with afternoons free. Students at the intermediate and advanced levels in both programs may choose from a variety of special interest courses, such as TOEFL Preparation, Business English and Idiomatic English.

Student residence option (no meals included) is offered at St. George Residence in nearby Brooklyn (20 mins by subway). Homestay option includes breakfast and dinner daily. Homestays are generally between 45-90 minutes from ELS by bus or other public transportation.

ELS Language Centers/Manhattan is located at Adelphi Universitys downtown Manhattan campus in the trendy SoHo section of lower Manhattan in New York City. ELS/Manhattan is directly above a convenient subway stop which takes student to and from the student residence option and most other areas of the city.
