Program Description

Regular programs are 14 weeks (one semester) long. Our summer session is 6 weeks long. Students receive 20-23 hours of instruction weekly in the full-time intensive program. MEI has five levels of instruction: 001 (beginning), 002 (low intermediate), 003 (intermediate), 004 (high intermediate) and 004C (advanced). MEI also has semi-intensive program (005) for students who have received provisional admission from the University.

Students make arrangements for housing. During the summer term, many MEI students live on-campus. Students can contact the Department of Resident Life by E-mail at: reslife@umdacc.umd.edu. MEI students may use the services of the Off-campus Housing Office in locating housing upon their arrival in College Park.
