The Intensive American Language Center (IALC) is located on the Washington State University campus. We can help you meet English language proficiency requirements and prepare for the academic expectations of university study. We offer 6 levels of English, convenient eight-week sessions, small class sizes and personal attention from dedicated faculty. Earning a B-level pass in level 5 of the IALC meets WSU's undergraduate language proficiency requirement.

Description

The IALC is one of America’s premier English language schools. Located in Pullman, Washington, USA on the Washington State University campus, the IALC will teach you to read and write English, to listen and to speak fluently. Students who complete the full course can enter the University without a TOEFL score! Pullman is a safe, small college town featuring shops, cafés, and friendly, talkative local people.

Student Services

The IALC maintains a student advisor to assist with course selection, a college advisor to assist with post-IALC college placement, an activities coordinator to plan student recreation. Immigration and visa assistance is available through WSU.

Additional Services

Students move through levels based on grades and ability. Each level includes intensive courses on grammar, listening and speaking, and reading and composition. Advanced students may add elective classes such as American games, Language through movies, or TOEFL preparation.

Other Programs

Students have access to all WSU resources. WSU features American sports such as football and basketball. Students can participate in campus recreation such as basketball, badminton, golf, or backpacking trips. The WSU libraries and computing labs are available.
