Montgomery, Alabama, USA You’ll find plenty to do off campus too. AUM’s campus is close to the city’s premier shopping area, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. It also is near Montgomery’s new riverfront entertainment, which is home to the city’s minor league baseball team. In addition, the area features a 19th century riverboat, which offers dinner cruises on the Alabama River; a local skateboard park; concerts at the Riverfront Amphitheater; and concerts, plays, and movies at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center. And then there’s the Alley, with restaurants, bars, live entertainment, and outdoor dining.

Our Intensive English Program provides exemplary English language training for international students. Professional instructors teach courses specifically designed to help you master the English language and succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

Auburn Montgomery’s Intensive English Program is open to individuals 16 years of age or older. All ESL students first take a placement test to help us determine their current skill levels and identify the coursework they need. Courses are taught at five proficiency levels: Level 1 – Beginning Level 2 – Low Intermediate Level 3 – Intermediate Level 4 – High Intermediate Level 5 – Advanced Once your proficiency is determined, an adviser will meet with you to help you select your courses. ESL classes are normally eight to 14 students and are held throughout the year in eight-week terms. You may begin your work here at the start of any eight-week term.
