ILI has two locations: At Dupont Circle in downtown Washington, DC, in a vibrant area with many cafes, restaurants, shops and close to the White House, museums, sightseeing. The other location is in Gaithersburg, Maryland, close to the Old Town.

Since 1970, the International Language Institute has provided English instruction to thousands of students from all parts of the world. ILI has become known for its excellent teachers and friendly atmosphere and is committed to providing quality language instruction as well as the help, services, and support our students need to study effectively in the United States. Most of our students take the intensive English day classes, which are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2:10 pm, including a short morning break (10:40-10:55 am) and a lunch break (11:45 am -12:30 pm). We offer 12 different levels, from the very beginner to the most advanced, plus TOEFL, GRE and GMAT test preparation classes. Official sessions start every 4 weeks, but students may start any Monday.

Student Services

ILI's Homestay Coordinator assists students wishing to participate in the homestay program. Meetings regarding U.S. cultural orientation are held every 4 weeks. The coordinator also helps students seeking non-homestay accommodation. ILI's Student Services Coordinator organizes weekly field trips to the sightseeing points of Washington, DC as well as holiday parties, soccer games, and "coffee hour" get-togethers.

Additional Services

ILI's Student Advisor provides academic counseling to students and assists in college/university placement. Our language lab is available after class. Our computer lab, equipped with high speed DSL internet connection, is available for students.

Other Programs

Test preparation classes are offered in: GRE, GMAT, LSAT, SAT, TOEFL and TOEIC exams. Also offered are classes on effective writing, speed reading, improving your pronunciation, public speaking and cross-cultural communication skills. ILI also offers a semi-intensive evening English program.
