English Language Program

Program Description

Our English Language Program offers two entry dates in the fall semester, August and October. Students entering in August enroll in a 15-week course. Students entering in October attend the last 8 weeks of the fall semester. In spring semester, we also offer two entry dates. Students entering in January enroll in a 15 week course. Students entering in March attend the last 8 weeks of the spring semester. The summer semester begins in June and is 8 weeks long. All sessions offer 22 hours of classroom instruction per week plus additional hours in the language laboratory. The Program offers three intensive levels and university level classes for conditionally admitted students who are beginning their degree.

ELP students can always find space in the university residence halls, and they can count on having a room over all breaks and holidays. Numerous off-campus apartments are available at reasonable cost for those who prefer to live and cook on their own.

Manhattan is located in the Flint Hills of northeastern Kansas. It is a friendly, safe, clean university community of 50,000. Manhattan is two hours by car (200km) from Kansas City.

To apply to the ELP, send the application, signed financial statement, and a $50 application fee. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and must have completed high school.
