Program Description

Complete (C) and brief (B) sessions are offered in the academic year and in the summer. All C and Spring C are 14 weeks; Fall B and Spring B are 7 or 8 weeks in length. Summer C is 12 weeks long, while Summer B is six weeks in length. Students are placed in levels for each skill on the basis of a comprehensive placement test. A full-time student must take at least 23 contact hours of classes per week and may also enroll in additional electives like TOEFL iBT, Business English, Pronunciation and Vocabulary.

tuition: Tuition varies for terms. 2007 Spring C $3760, Spring B $1890. This tuition includes a free institutional TOEFL and dozens of additional contact hours provided by the Cultural Immersion Program.

Like most U of Florida students, intensive English students are housed in apartments located in private complexes designed for students. Most international students prefer to prepare their meals in their apartments.
