Literacy Source

Program Description

Literacy Source – A Community Learning Center has provided adult literacy services since 1986. Our mission is to build a literate community and promote self-sufficiency by providing learner-centered instruction to adults in English literacy and basic life skills. We offer Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring and conversation classes, computer literacy, workplace skills, citizenship and civics classes, and an individualized adult high school diploma program. Our office, where many of our classes take place, is conveniently located in Fremont, across the street from the library. We also offer some classes in other locations in and around the city of Seattle. Most of our services are free; the benefits are priceless. Adult literacy benefits our students, their families, and their communities. Literate adults earn more money, buy homes, raise healthy families, vote, and give back to their community in countless ways. All of us – learners, volunteers, instructors, staff, and board members – welcome you to Literacy Source. Explore our website and learn more about us.
