Program Description

The RITA (Rigorous Immersion and Targeted Achievement) Intensive English Program is an 8-week full-immersion course taught by certified TESOL and TEFL educators at a premier Academy certified by the University of Cambridge in England. Students can take standard academic courses to continue their regular studies and interests, all taught in English, and will also receive half a day of English every day - including public speaking, essay writing, creative writing, and grammar. The program also includes two weekend trips - one to Chicago and one to a seasonal destination.

The Academy of the Fox Cities in located in Appleton, Wisconsin, the heart of the Fox Valley region. The area is made up of 10 small cities that combine to form one medium-sized metropolitan area with a population of more than 250,000. We make every effort to locate host families for students, however in times of high enrollment, other arrangements may be made with a minimal additional cost. The community is extremely safe, welcoming, and has a rich cultural diversity.

Interested students may obtain an application from the program website, or by contacting the program coordinator. Application acceptance is based on basic existing English proficiency and answers to application questions. Applicants should submit an application no later than 3 months prior to the date they wish to start the program. Program admission is on a rolling basis.

The school also offers full-time study for foreign students, with a Cambridge-certified curriculum. Students are able to prepare for and complete O-level, A and AS-level, and IGCSE exams as part of their study at the Academy, and we encourage full-time enrollment.
