Program Description

The AEI's intensive English program offers 18-22 class hours per week. 12 of those hours are in a reading, writing, and grammar course. 6 are in a listening and speaking course. Students may choose to take electives in pronunciation, business English, TOEFL, and more. The curriculum has an academic focus to prepare students for university study. All teachers have advanced degrees.

American tutors provided for 2 hours per week at no charge. Activities for students include trips to tourist sites around Oregon. Free airport pickup. Free use of the city bus service. Counseling and academic advising. Use of all campus facilities (as UO students). AEI has its own homestay coordinator with office hours.
