As the only intensive English language program in the metropolitan Detroit area, the English Language Institute (ELI) of Wayne State University (WSU) has specialized exclusively in teaching English communication, cultural orientation, and academic preparation skills to non-native speakers of English from all over the world for more than 35 years. The ELI uses the newest language-teaching methodology and the most up-to-date audio, video, and computer technology available, including a remote-access language lab. Our small classes and highly trained instructors make it possible for students to improve their English rapidly and effectively
