Program Description

The English Language Institute (ELI) at GSW was established in 1988 and provides a well-designed curriculum to meet the needs of non-native speakers of English. We focus on helping students improve TOEFL scores and conversational English. Our instructors are experienced and dedicated to helping ELI students not only to improve their English proficiency, but also to solve cultural and social problems.

The GSW English Language Institute is located on the campus on Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. Americus is in southwest Georgia, approximately 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta.

application information:

The following application documents are required for F-1 students: application, $50 application fee, high school transcripts (and university transcripts, if attended), copy of passport, financial statement, financial affidavit, immunization records, and bank statement. other programs/services:

ELI students receive a student identification card and have the same privileges as regular GSW students, including access to all campus facilities. ELI students can participate in a number of social events and activities on and off campus. The ELI offers a standard and an advanced completion certificate to qualified students.
