Program Description

The SLA Intensive English Program will help you improve your English skills quickly. It is ideal for students who are preparing for university study in the USA, for professionals and other adult learners. Our communicative approach to language learning makes for lively, interactive classes. The Intensive English Program provides: * 20 hours of classroom instruction per week * 6 levels * Technology-supported learning to complement classroom instruction and give individualized practice * Opportunities to meet and speak with Americans, visit local businesses, hear guest speakers and explore the city * Experiential language learning with ESL Adventures, an extracurricular program where students build English skills while participating in activities such as sailing and salsa dancing * College counseling service for students planning to attend a U.S. university * Optional special-interest courses in pronunciation, business English, test prep

Seattle Language Academy refers Homestay requests to ABODE Housing Services. ABODE also assists students with arrangements for pick-up and drop-off at SeaTac airport, either by a member of their host family or a direct shuttle service. To learn more about ABODE, please visit its website at www.abodehomestay.com. ABODE offers the following housing possibilities: Traditional Homestay: Students stay in a comfortable, private room in the home of an American family. They have the opportunity to speak English and participate in family activities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Monthly: $595 Bed & Breakfast Homestay: Students stay in a comfortable, private room in a house with Americans. Meals are not included, but students may use the kitchen. Ideal for students who would like roommates, rather than a host family. Monthly rate: $470 Placement fee: $250

To register for Evening Classes: Please register over the phone by calling (206) 325-4109. To register for Standard Classes: Download Adobe Acrobat Reader, if you do not already have it. Complete the ELP Registration Form and include a $100 tuition deposit. The deposit will be applied toward your tuition and is nonrefundable in case of cancellation. English Placement Exam To ensure that you are placed in a class that is appropriate for your English level, please take our placement exam. We can send it to you via e-mail, or you can take it on site. Insurance In order to process your application, SLA requires that students show proof of medical insurance.
