General English Course

Program Description

Our full and part-time General English courses will help you to quickly improve your speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills. We have classes for everyone (from absolute beginners to advanced) and with our help you will progress quickly and confidently through the various levels. On your first day at school you will take a short test to check your level of English - you will then be placed in a class for your level. It will take 8 weeks to move through each level, but if you make good progress, you will move to the next level before then. You can study full-time or part-time and we also offer 20, 25 or 30-hour Intensive Courses if your time in England is short.

You will stay with a host family in a private, single room (although twin rooms are available in our junior courses). You will have breakfast and dinner with the family Monday to Friday, with the addition of lunches at weekends. If you prefer to live on your own, we can help you find a small flat or hotel.

location information:

The Centre School of English is situated in a safe, car-free zone in the middle of Bournemouth and only a few minutes walk from the beach, gardens, taxis and bus stops. There are lots of shops and cafes close to the School, as well as restaurants, pubs, theatres, multi-screen cinemas and beautiful parks. Our small, friendly school is on the beautiful south coast of England. The lovely towns of Poole and Christchurch are a short bus ride away and there are excellent bus and train links to London and the New Forest.

Do you like sports? Golf, tennis, tenpin bowling, football and cricket are available nearby. If you like doing less energetic things, we regularly arrange our own private school excursions, visits, class meals, video/dvd evenings, pub tours and parties...but you might have to dance at the parties!!.
