Malta University Language School is owned and validated by the University of Malta. The University of Malta was first established in 1592 and it is recognised all over the world for its impressive reputation.
The classrooms and administrative offices of our school are located at the University Residence in Lija thus giving our students the opportunity to mix with international university students staying at the same location. All of our courses are validated by the University of Malta, and all the students who attend our language courses receive a Malta University Language School Certificate.
The School aims at providing a professional environment to aid students in achieving their desired level of English proficiency. Together with a team of CELTA and DELTA trained teachers, the language school provides courses ranging from General English, Intensive English, specialised lessons as well as exam preparation courses, such as IELTS and TOEFL. The School strives to achieve a well balanced, professional classroom atmosphere with the students’ welfare always in mind.

General English
The General English course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to practise all the main English skills in a dynamic, group environment.
The course is ideal for students who are looking to develop the four primary English language skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening as well as sub-skills: grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Our classes are as diverse as possible in nationality as well as age to provide the best learning experience for each student.
Intensive English

Intensive English
The Intensive English course aims to provide students with the opportunity to practice all main skills in English in a dynamic, group environment. In addition, students will increase the pace at which they develop their English fluency and accuracy by attending an additional afternoon conversation class.
Students will take up the General English course and in addition, have an extra daily hour of class dedicated to English Conversation. Intensive English Courses are ideal for students who are looking for a holistic learning experience that targets all the English skills with an added focus on speaking and fluency.
Executive English

Combined General & Business English
This course enables the student to join a General English class in the morning followed by an extra lesson of Business English, which could be taken as individual or in a group.
Students will take up the General English course and in addition, have an extra class for Business English either as 1-1 tuition or in a mini-group. Our Combined General & Business English Course is ideal for students who are eager to improve their English in a group setting and who would also like to increase their English fluency and accuracy within a professional setting.

Combined General & One to One
The course enables the student to join a General English class in the morning followed by an extra lesson of One-One Tuition or Specialised English catering fully to the student’s interests and needs.
Students will join the General English course and in addition, have an extra One-One class for students aiming to develop their English skills for a specific need or within a specific specialised subject. For Specialised English we provide the following options: Medical, Legal, Hospitality and Aviation English. We are also able to process other requests.

IELTS Exam Preparation
Many of our students choose IELTS Academic since they would like to study at the University of Malta. Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses require different scores and some courses also require specific skills scores. Kindly visit Malta University’s Secure English Language Test page for more information.
Students can also opt to take the test in Malta. The Malta Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly or bi-monthly exams and student are advised to book as early as possible. It is also possible to book an IELTS pre-test which helps students prepare for their final test. For 2016 the test fee is €192 and can be booked with the Chamber of Commerce. Malta University Language School has been holding the exam preparation courses for a number of years, and since it is owned and validated by the University of Malta it ensures that its course content and teachers are of high standards and professional.

Teens Summer Programme
Malta University Language School offers a programme designed specifically for teens! Give your teenagers the opportunity to improve their English, make friends, and interact with other students from around the world – all within a fun and safe environment!
Our all-inclusive programme consists of:
15 hours per week of lessons in the morning, two leisure activities, full board, twin shared accommodation, return airport transfers, 24 hour student support.
General English Course
The lessons are held at the University Residence, every morning from 09:00 till 12:30, and are available at all levels, from Elementary to Advanced. The courses are planned specifically for teens, and therefore they are fun while at the same time highly instructive and covering the four skills of English as well as syntactical and lexical accuracy and fluency. All students take an online test so their level of English is assessed.
Accommodation
The students stay at the University Residence, where the school is also located, and they are booked on a full board basis, usually in sharing, Townhouse apartments.
Fun
Two leisure activities are organised every week for all the teenagers. These are included in the price and consist of a fun, summer activity and a more cultural one. Additional activities are also available every week, however, it is then up to the individual student to book according to his/her inclinations.
In order to ensure the safety of the teenagers at all times, the students will be supervised during the activities and during leisure times. Supervisors will also reside at the University Residence in order to be available to meet the needs of the students.
