Program Description
International Language Lab Center,I.L.L GENERAL PROGRAM Courses: We offer English-language courses for persons aged 06 and above (for younger students, see below) during three regular ten-week sessions per year and three or four intensive fifteen-day sessions. For exact dates, see the calendar. The Basic Program: I.L.L Temara offers a basic program of English instruction that consists of four main "levels" : Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency. Each of these cycles, in turn, is made up of a number of levels (for example, Beginning 1, Beginning 2, etc.) , each level representing from 30 to 35 hours of work which can be completed in either one normal session or one accelerated session. At the end of each level, students must succeed in a final examination in order to continue to the next level. In addition to this regular program, the I.L.L also offers special classes in TOEFL.TOEIC.GMAT.GRE.ELTS preparation and other special courses upon request. The Junior Program For young learners, the I.L.L offers a Junior program. Junior classes are during daytime hours, meet once a week for 2 hours, and are taught using games, songs, and other activities to supplement a coursebook specially designed for young learners. Pupils can enter the junior program either in the summer or fall or winter. Other Courses Besides English, I.L.L Temara offers introductory courses in Moroccan Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic. (For the main Arabic program Students. I.L.L offer also Volunteering opportunities to teach English in our School durig all the year. Teachers The teaching staff of the I.L.L Temara is made up both of native speakers of American and British English, as well as experienced Moroccan teachers. The Method In general, language teaching at the ALC is through the direct, new Modern communicative approach. Using the latest American language-teaching material, students practice the language in a meaningful context, using only English in the classroom, and work toward language goals that are within their reach. As much as possible, the lessons are student-centered. Students are evaluated based on classwork and a final examination, and must succeed at one level before passing on to the next. Textbooks Used, Academic year 2008 As the table below shows, the basic program of English courses is taught using some of the most up-to-date material available.

Housing options at I.L.L I.L.L students may choose from the housing options detailed below:  an apartment or house  a Homestay with a Moroccan family  a hotel Hotels I.L.L students may receive discounted rates at select hotels in Rabat/ Temara. We have taken into consideration all this. Homestay A unique feature of I.L.L ’s programs is our Moroccan homestay service. Homestays with Moroccan families entail room and board for a fixed fee and provide the student with a window into family life in Morocco where immersion is valued. When desiring homestays, students with specific preferences, such as allergies, dietary restrictions, or their familys distance from I.L.L , should indicate these on their application forms. Apartments We can arrange apartments for all who desire them. Inform us before your arrival and we’llbe glad to assist you. You’ll be satisfied at 100%. Visas procedures vary according to nationality. Most students obtain a three-month tourist visa while entering Morocco. Students who enroll full-time can obtain a one-year residency visa. One residency condition is a bank statement with convertible dirham of at least 20, 000 Dh or you are able to have this amount wired to you after your arrival. Also, consult our local coordinator who will be glad to assist you while you are here. General Notes on the Homestay Experience The homestay is perhaps the most intensive aspect of this program; both linguistically and academically. It offers a rare and potentially rewarding experience, that few people will ever be able to share. Much of the program will be spent in the company of each participant’s “family;†the learning experiences this “space sharing†affords are considerable

We can offer a beautiful ocean-front four-star hotel near the school, or a more modestly priced hotel in Rabat with transportation provided to and from the school with the use of taxis or buses.
